Positives Of Science Fairs
Studies have shown and teachers also agree about the importance of science of students lives. Science helps build student involvement with both nature and wanting to strive in other courses. A way to get students to become more involved in science are Science Fairs. These events give students the opportunity to do problem solving equations and experiments all on their own. When they become familiar with the experiment, they are then allowed to show it to others and explain why something happens a certain way. Junior High science events provide great learning atmospheres, because the projects that are chosen to be displayed are always different. So a wide variety of learning happens.
People believe that involvement in science increases one's sense of their personal capabilities as well as the qualities that they possess. With Science Fairs students are able to get a better look at why nature happens how it does, and the importance of why nature needs to always be consistent. When the students learn about the impact of nature and science, they begin to project a greater positive attitude towards it. Students will then want to learn more about different sub fields of science such as chemistry, biology, and even zoology. With a greater understanding of how things work in the ecosystem, students will be able to find their place in it as well.
Every student has different ideas and different hobbies of what they get into. At Science Fairs, different student hobbies are thrown out everywhere for everyone to see. By just looking at what a student in displaying on their display board and how they are teaching what they are displaying, you are learning little secret passions that a student has. The student is learning and teaching other students, and adults too, while not even realizing it. They are having fun standing in front of a audience showing off experiment presentations. When students are having fun while teaching and learning, this is the best way for them to remember what they have learned.

If nothing else, the student will learn about critical thinking skills and what the scientific method really is. Some students don't always project themselves well in front of others, and they are scared to talk in front of crowds. These students do still learn very important skills. Science Fairs incorporates greater critical thinking skills by making the student learn about their experiment in greater depth. The student knows they will be asked about their experiment and why it happens like it does. This forces the student to learn more details about their experiment. If the student can't find anymore research, they are forced to use critical thinking to find more information. |
